Hello, World! People often talk about starting a website or writing a blog, but what is all the hype about? Time to find out, challenge accepted!

As I embark on this unprecedented journey to find the time to write about the things that inspires me most. This is not about me, but rather it is about us. That is the beauty of the open source community. This website is an opportunity to share, explore and have fun in writing about tech, software engineering and geek-speak. How do I plan to do that? Well… somewhere between sitting in traffic, drinking java and solving problems.

The first goal would be to avoid the three-day monk syndrome known as mikka bozu (三日坊主) – a Japanese phrase which basically means someone that attempts something, but almost immediately gives up.

A big thank you to Scott Hanselman – a true professional in the software industry. Going way back to an article he wrote on dark matter developers, one of the reasons that got me into doing this. There is a special kind of developer that is enigmatic and constitutes a majority just like dark matter in cosmology. They get the job done but we never hear from then in the online world. He urges us to be part of the community. Now this is where it gets tricky and it is different for everyone. Scheduling the time to blog while life happens, reality kicks in and with rapid technological advancements that make keeping up with the Kardashians look easy.

There isn’t anything wrong with being on the dark matter side, but there is so much lost value in how much knowledge goes unsaid. There are some geniuses out there in industry that have full knowledge of a topic and deliver high quality solutions. They are the ones that can help others that have spent days tearing their hair out, the ones that have been through the nitty-gritty and the ones that hold the keys to make an exponential difference. While it is all good in helping internally in organisations there is a place outside of that where it could be as simple as sharing experiences, issues encountered or how to guides. Contributions, interacting and sharing – they empower this vision. Imagine how powerful the community of geeks will be.

Please feel free to comment and help with this fun journey.
